Habsana Jallow

Habsana S. Jallow (* around 1988) is a Gambian women's rights activist and politician .

The women's rights activist Habsana Jallow stood in the parliamentary elections in 2012 as a candidate for the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) in the constituency of Nianija in the Janjanbureh Administrative Area . With 67.26% she was able to win the constituency for herself. At that time she was the youngest member of the Gambian National Assembly. In July 2015 she became an appointed member of the Parliament of the West African Economic Community (ECOWAS). Before the 2017 parliamentary elections , Jallow joined the People's Democratic Organization for Independence and Socialism in March 2017 and ran as a candidate. With 24.68% it could not win the constituency and lost it to Amadou Camara (NRP).

In 2016 she was named one of the 100 Most Influential Young Africans , the 100 most influential young Africans.
