Hadwig Hörner , also Hadwiga Hoerner (* June 29, 1927 - June 25, 2019 ) was a German classical philologist who taught at the University of Frankfurt am Main . The main focus of her work was the edition of the works of the Christian church teacher Gregor von Nyssa .

Life

Hadwig Hörner was born in 1927. No information is currently available about their childhood, youth or education.

There is evidence that Hörner lived in Frankfurt am Main in 1959 . From 1964 she worked there at the Institute for Classical Philology at the University of Frankfurt as an adjunct professor for Classical Philology. In 1992 she retired.

Hadwig Hörner was a specialist in Greek philosophy and Christian theology . Her main research area was the writings of Gregor von Nyssa , whose complete edition Gregorii Nysseni opera she was in charge of as the successor to Werner Jaeger and Hermann Langerbeck . She was the main editor of Volumes 9 (1967), 15 (1972) and 2.2 (1987). In preparation is De hominis opificio (November 2015).
