Port railway of the canton of Basel-Landschaft

The port railway of the canton of Basel-Landschaft (HBL) was a licensed Swiss railway company which, as a standard-gauge freight railway, connected the Rhine ports of the canton of Basel-Landschaft to the SBB network .

In December 2010, the Port Railway Switzerland (HBSAG) was founded, which took over the two cantonal port railways of Baselland and Basel-Stadt at the beginning of 2011.

The port railway connects the Rheinhafen Birsfelden and the Auhafen Muttenz with the Basel marshalling yard near Muttenz . The company was responsible for a secure infrastructure and smooth operation on its routes. SBB Infrastructure was entrusted with the operational management .

The port railway was founded in 1940. She did not own any vehicles.
