The Hagal Aett

Aettir ( Old Norse aett = family, clan) are the subdivisions of the Futhark of the common Germanic runes into three groups of eight runes , each of which is assigned a common deeper meaning.

The second group, Hagal Aett (or Odin's Aett or Wodan's Aett ), consists of the runes Hagalaz , Naudhiz , Isa , Jera , Eihwaz , Perthro , Elhaz and Sowilo .
