Fehu
Fehu ( ᚠ ) is the first rune of the older Futhark and the Old Norse runic alphabet with the sound value / f /. The reconstructed ancient Germanic run name means' cattle; Cattle piece, movables ; Prosperity 'and appears in the runic poems as Old Norse fé ' cattle, property, money ', Old English feoh ' cattle, property, money, fortune 'and Gothic faíhu ' money '. Such a correspondence between all runic poems and also the Gothic letter name is unusual and gives the reconstructed * fehu a high degree of certainty.
Runic poems
The name of the rune can be found in three of the traditional rune poems and is mentioned in the old Swedish rune poem and in the Abecedarium Nordmannicum .
