The residential building at Hagelkreuzstraße 42 is in Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

The building was built in 1905. It was entered under No. H 062 on November 27, 1997 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .

architecture

It is a two-story plastered building with a high pitched roof . Asymmetrical facade structure emphasizing the entrance axis by means of a curved gable (neck gable). The horizontal structure is provided by the base, floor and a slightly protruding eaves . The house is accessed through the deeply cut entrance niche on the right and the basement access in the left axis .

The three windows on each of the two floors are designed and arranged to vary each floor. Those on the ground floor - those on the right axis combined in a rhythmic manner - are framed by a staggered frame with a leaf-adorned keystone . House access is formulated analogously. The vertical rectangular windows on the upper floor close with a vertical lintel. An arched cornice roofing over a keystone crowns the two windows of the outer axis; The central window is emphasized by a crowned gable with shell ornamentation. The parapet fields are decorated with garlands or geometric decorative elements (central window). In the gable field a high arched window; Above it a two-fold masked, vegetable-like cartridge with a date inscription: 1905.
