history

On March 8, 1919, the first ordinary general assembly of the purchasing and delivery cooperative for Hafnergerwerbe eGmbH in Stuttgart took place in the Stuttgart beer hall. The Neu-Ulm and Munich branches were opened in 1949, the Nuremberg branch in 1950, the Bad Salzuflen branch in 1980, the Halle branch in 1991, the Groß-Umstadt branch in 1994 and the Wittstock branch in 1996. In 2007, Walbersdorfer Ofenkachel GmbH & Co. KG in Austria was purchased. Two 100% subsidiaries emerged from this in 2010: Hagos GmbH, which takes over the supply of Austrian tiled stove manufacturers as a wholesaler, and WOK, which also produces the WOK storage stove in addition to ceramics for stove construction. In January 2014, Zehendner Keramik took over one of the two subsidiaries, WOK (Walbersdorfer Ofenkachel). The other subsidiary, Hagos GmbH, has been based in Melk, Lower Austria, since the end of August 2017. The Austrian Hafner can now - like their German colleagues - also join the cooperative as members.
