The Haidach is a district in the southeast of Pforzheim . The district is characterized by its panoramic position on the Buckenberg, the adjacent arable and forest areas of the Hagenschieß as well as the predominant , relaxed high-rise and multi-family house architecture with extensive green areas based on Berlin's Gropiusstadt and similar settlements from the 1960s. The district was planned in the light of the war destruction of Pforzheim and the associated lack of living space on the drawing board and, according to the idea at the time, should offer family-friendly, modern living space in the country to an upper middle class. Today the Haidach has around 8,500 inhabitants, many of whom are ethnic German repatriates from former Eastern Bloc countries. The proportion of foreigners in 2011 was 6%.
