Haidmühle is part of the municipality of Neustadt an der Weinstrasse . The former Heidmühle or Heydtmühle is located east of the city on the Speyerbach in Haidmühle 1.
Mill operation
The origins of a mill at this point probably go back to the 9th century. The extensive meadows to the southeast of the mill gave it its name. Today's mill construction dates from the 18th century. The mill and storage technology was renewed and expanded in the 20th century. At the beginning of the 1970s, the mill owners stopped grinding.
Part of the community
In the 20th century the Haidmühle gave its name to the neighboring sports facility of VfL Neustadt / Weinstrasse , the stadium at the Haidmühle . The city built a sewage treatment plant nearby in the 1920 / 1930s with a main collector at the Haidmühle. From 1942 to 1945 the mill was a warehouse for Eastern workers . In the immediate vicinity is the Neustadt-Haidmühle domestic waste landfill, which was operated from 1949 to 1973 and has a hill-like elevation that has been renatured.
