Haim Moshe ( Hebrew חיים משה, born as Haim Mose ; * 1955 in Ramat Hasharon , Israel ) is an Israeli singer and musician of Yemeni origin. Genre: Oriental-Mediterranean ethno (מזרחית).

He is considered to be one of the best representatives of this genre: Haim Moshe and his albums have been in the charts of oriental music without a break for several decades.

Biography and greatest hits

Moshe, married father of three children, was born Haim Mose in 1955 in Ramat Sharon, Israel. His father wanted Haim to become a rabbi like his grandfather. But he has always felt drawn to the sounds of oriental-Mediterranean music. He joined the band Zliley Hakerem (צלילי הכרם, bells of the vineyard ) and sang mainly traditional Yemeni songs. He started his solo career with hits like "Ahavat Chajaj" (אהבת חיי, love of my life ) and "Linda Linda". With the album "Ten Lazman Lalechet" (תן לזמן ללכת, Let time go ) he became a superstar. Moshe also appeared in a movie or two.

In addition to his own songs, such as "Kol Nedaray" (כל נדרי, All my oaths ) or "Ahavnu" (אהבנו, We have loved ), Moshe is also known for cover versions of Arabic, Turkish, Greek and other hits that have been translated into Hebrew. For example, the hymn "Toda" (תודה Thank you), which is a cover of the song "Ola kala ola orea" (Ολα καλά όλα ωραία) by the Greek singer Jorgos Dalaras, is very popular among Israelis . Moshe also sings in Arabic.
