Haima ( Arabic هيماء, DMG Haimāʾ ) is the capital of the al-Wusta governorate in Oman . It is also the capital of the Wilaya Haima . It is located in the Rub al-Kali desert . The population in 2003 was 3,207.

history

Permanent settlement began after a team of oil explorers opened a water source there. This well, along with another one in al-Ajaiz, became the first permanent water source in Jiddat il-Harasiis. The well in Haima was less used than the one in al-Ajaiz.

In 1982 a school for boys and later one for girls was opened in Haima.

Families of the Harasiis tribe have increasingly settled in this place.
