Muhut (also Mahout) is a small town with about 4000 inhabitants in the Sultanate of Oman . Muhut is close to the coast of the Indian Ocean and Masira Island . The village can be reached via a junction from Route 32 . Muhut is administratively also a Wilaya of the Al-Wusta governorate . The administrative district has a size of 12937 km² and a population of 12,488 people. Muhut Island , close to the city, is known for its mangrove trees and diverse fauna such as flamingos and seagulls .
