Hajime Isayama ( Japanese 諫 山 創 Isayama Hajime , born August 29, 1986 in Ōyama , Ōita prefecture ) is a Japanese mangaka . He gained particular fame through his first and currently ongoing work Attack on Titan (Japanese: Shingeki no Kyojin ).

biography

Isayama attended Hita Rinko Senior High School. During this time he began drawing manga and entering it in competitions. After finishing school he enrolled in the manga design program of Kyushu designer Gakuin. After his One Shot Attack on Titan was released, he moved to Tokyo to pursue his mangaka career. There he worked in an internet café .

In 2009 Isayama achieved her artistic breakthrough. Since September 9, 2009 (issue 10/2009) Attack on Titan has been published as a manga series in individual chapters in the Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine published by Kōdansha . The manga series was implemented as an anime as well as several adaptations by other artists. In 2011, Attack on Titan won the Kōdansha Manga Prize in the Shōnen category .

Isayama himself states that his work was particularly influenced by the Manga Arms .

He has been married since 2018.
