    The hamate bone ( Latin hamate, Os carpal quartum ) is one of the eight carpal bones and the distal part ( distal ) series of short bones to.

    It has, on the palm of the hand ( palmar ) a small hook ( Hamulus ), the side ( laterally curved) back and the well through the skin is palpable. The hook bone is related to the short little finger flexor ( flexor digiti minimi brevis muscle ) and the ligament between the pea bone ( os pisiforme ) and the hook bone ( ligamentum pisohamatum ). Far away from the body ( distal ) the hook bone is articulated with the fourth and fifth metacarpal bones ( os metacarpale IV and os metacarpale V ) . Side it communicates with the capitate bone ( Os capitatum ), tight and middle ( medial ) with the triangle leg ( triquetrum ) distally and laterally with the lunate ( lunate ) in combination.
