Hook mortar

Hook mortars (also shaft mortars) belonged to the smallest mortar caliber and lay in a matching rifle stock with a rifle lock.

Hook mortars shot grenades weighing around 1 kg to a distance of 300 meters. Usually they had a hook at the front under the muzzle that was hung over a cross piece of wood attached to the parapet to absorb the recoil .
