The Half Moon Beach (English for crescent beach is) a small beach on the north coast of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located 1.5 km southeast of Scarborough Castle , between Cape Shirreff and Black Point .
The name, based on the shape of the beach, is contained in the records of the British seal hunter Robert Fildes (1793-1827), who operated in two Antarctic summer campaigns between 1820 and 1822 in the waters around the South Shetland Islands.
