Halldór Helgason

Halldór Helgason (born January 10, 1991 in Akureyri , Iceland) is an Icelandic snowboarder.

Life

He is the younger brother of the snowboarder Eirikur "Eiki" Helgason. Halldór is sponsored by Lobster Snowboards, Nike, Monster Energy, Oakley, 7/9/13 Belts, Kaleidoscope Skateboards, Skullcandy, Neff Gloves, Switchback Bindings, Hoppipolla Headwear, Frontline Clothing, and Techrider. So far, he has refused any further sponsorship.

Halldór was the first Icelander to win a gold medal at the 2010 Winter X Games at the Big Air’s 2010 in Aspen . He, Eiki, their cameraman Johannes Brenning and their agent Kristoffer Hansson founded the belt brand 7/9/13 and Hoppipolla which is a brand for headwear. Halldór founded the Lobster Snowboards brand with Eiki, Kristoffer Hansson and the owner of Bataleon. Halldór was previously sponsored by DC.

Halldór appeared in the snowboarding films "They came from" by Factor Films, in "Never Not" by Nike and in "The Storming" by Standard Films . Halldór and his brother Eiki Helgason shot the film "Sexual Snowboarding" with Matteo Peragine and Issac Wray (two good friends of Halldór).
