Haluk Sayın

Haluk Sayın (* 1942 in İzmit ) is a former Turkish rear admiral , who was in command of the naval aviation base of the Navy (Türk Deniz Kuvvetleri) between 1983 and 1998 .

Life

After attending school in 1960, Sayın began an officer training at the Naval School ( Deniz Harp Okulu ) and joined the Navy in 1964 as a lieutenant at sea (Teğmen) . He then found uses in various naval units and began flight training in 1970 at the Army Aviation School (Kara Havacılık Okulu) , which he completed as a pilot. From 1973 to 1975 he was a graduate of the Naval Academy ( Deniz Harp Akademisi ) and was then as a lieutenant captain (Yüzbaşı) officer for naval operations in the naval operations center of the Turkish occupation forces in Cyprus KTBKK(Kıbrıs Türk Barış Kuvvetleri Komutanlığı) in Girne . After 1975 he was head of the operations department of the helicopter units of the Navy, then commander of the helicopter units and later head of the operations department of a naval base.

In 1980 Sayın was transferred to the headquarters of the Allied Naval Forces of NATO in Southern Europe NAVSOUTH ( Allied Naval Forces Southern Europe ) in Naples , where he worked in various assignments until 1983. After his promotion to sea captain (Albay) he became the commandant of the naval aviation base (Deniz Hava Üs Komutanı) and held this position after his promotions to flotilla admiral (Tuğamiral) and rear admiral (Tümamiral) for 15 years without interruption until his retirement 1998.

Sayın is married and has one child.
