Ham and eggs

Ham and Eggs (English for ham and eggs ) is a dish that is mostly known in English-speaking regions and is part of the American Breakfast . Cooked ham slices and eggs are required for preparation . The ham is fried in a pan and eggs are fried over it. It is also possible to place the eggs raw on the seared ham and finish the dish in the oven. Ham and eggs are usually served with toasted bread . One variant is Bacon and Eggs , here bacon is used instead of ham .

Trivia

Edward Bernays , the father of public relations , was hired in the 1920s by a ham maker whose sales were declining to boost sales. Edward Bernays then conducted a survey among doctors with the result that they prefer a hearty breakfast. He then sent the results of this survey to around 5,000 doctors, stating that ham or bacon and eggs are a hearty breakfast. In the Czech Republic, under the onomatopoeic name "Hemenex", the dish is a popular breakfast offer in restaurants and cafes.
