Richard Hering (cook)
Richard Hering (born November 18, 1873 in Vienna ; † March 25, 1936 there ) was an Austrian cook . His special achievement was to have published the standard work for cooks - Lexikon der Küche - which is still used today, for the first time in 1907.
At that time Hering was kitchen director at the Vienna Hotel Bristol and later at the Vienna Hotel Metropol . Both hotels fell victim to the Second World War . Hering remained unmarried.
