Hamann Quartet

The Hamann Quartet was a German string quartet . It is named after Bernhard Hamann , the founder of the quartet. This instrumental quartet from Hamburg included Bernhard Hamann, who played 1st  violin , Fritz Köhnsen (2nd violin), Fritz Lang ( viola ) and Siegfried Palm ( violoncello ). Siegfried Palm was a member of the Hamann Quartet from 1950 to 1962. In 1963 the quartet premiered the 1962 String Quartet II (Quartetto lirico) by the composer Walter Steffens .
