The man of Exloermond ( Dutch Exloërmond ) is an Iron Age bog body , the 1914 Exloërveen of, part Bourtanger Moores in Odoorn found. The bog body is now kept in the Drents Museum in Assen .

Findings

During the investigation of the man's stomach contents in the 1930s by F. Netolitzky at the University of Cernăuţi , Romania, numerous remains of husks and chaff were found, so that it can be assumed that shortly before his death the man was eating a dish made from barley , Had eaten millet and legumes such as vetches and peas that could not be identified . In addition, Netolitzky describes a larger accumulation of fungal spores that cannot be identified in more detail in one part of the intestine. Today, this finding can no longer be specified, as the samples examined no longer exist.

A radiocarbon dating ( 14 C-dating) of skin and hair of two samples by accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) gave a death period by 400 BC.
