Hanim Kuzu

Hanım Kuzu , actually Emine Kuzu , (* 1911/1912 in the district Yenipınar in Adiyaman , executed probably in 1944 in Malatya ) was a Turkish assassin . She was one of the most famous female death penalty victims in Turkey .

Her real first name was Emine. She poisoned her husband, guard İhsan Kuzu, so that he could marry a younger man. She was sentenced to death by the 1st Major Criminal Chamber in Malatya. The judgment was confirmed by the parliament after confirmation by the revision authority on September 19, 1942 and published in the Resmî Gazete on March 27, 1944 . Hanım Kuzu became famous through the novel Kemal Tahirs Karılar Koğuşu , in which her story is told. The novel was made into a film in 1989. Perihan Savaş played the role of Hanım Kuzu in it.
