Han Engelsman (1948)

Henri Herman "Han" Engelsman (born October 26, 1919 in Amsterdam , † January 31, 1990 in Nijmegen ) was a Dutch football player . He played for Quick Nijmegen in the 1930s and 1940s and was used once on the national team .

Engelsman was part of the extended cadre of the Dutch even before the war . He was already on the bench for the game against Luxembourg in Rotterdam on November 28, 1937, just a month after his 18th birthday. However, his first assignment in Orange was more than ten years away. On April 18, 1948, he was in the starting lineup of the Dutch in the game against Belgium and scored the opening goal after 20 minutes. After the Belgians turned the game around, Abe Lenstra was able to equalize to make it 2-2. This game should be Engelsman's only appearance in the national team.
