The city of Hanchuan ( Chinese 汉川 市 , Pinyin Hànchuān Shì ) is an independent city in the Chinese province of Hubei . It belongs to the administrative area of the prefecture-level city of Xiaogan . In 1999 it had 1,084,887 inhabitants.
