Hands Özyürek

Hande Özyürek (* 1976 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish violinist . The scholarship holder of the Munich Philharmonic has been a member of the Munich Radio Orchestra since 2003 and has released a solo CD.

Career

Özyürek began to play the violin at the age of 10 and later took lessons. From 1993 to 1995 she studied violin at the State Conservatory in her hometown (graduation as the best of the year). At the age of 19, supported by a grant from the Turkish Foundation for Education (TEV), she went to Germany for further studies at the Detmold University of Music and, from 2003, also at the Saarbrücken University of Music .

In 2000 Özyürek was accepted as a scholarship holder of the Munich Philharmonic. She has been playing in the Munich Radio Orchestra since 2003.

Özyürek gives solo concerts and is internationally recognized as a violinist, which is also reflected in her participation in a number of CD and radio recordings. A first solo album Face-to-Face with Saygun , on which she is accompanied by the pianist Uwe Brandt , was released by Kalan Müzik in 2007 and contains works by Ahmed Adnan Saygun .

  • 2003: 2nd prize at the International Chamber Music Competition 'Rovere d'Oro'.
  • 2003: 2nd prize at the International Chamber Music Competition 'Palma d'Oro'.
  • 2003: 2003 Culture Prize in Turkey.
  • 2007: 1st prize (recording) at the 15th Vienna International Music Competition.
