The commercial invoice ( english commercial invoice ) is a statement that the trade purchase of goods or other goods prove.
General
It is issued by the seller , who provides information about the description of the goods, packaging , name and address of the buyer, weight, quantity, purchase price , delivery and payment conditions , freight and the statistical goods number from the combined nomenclature .
Functions
The commercial invoice is a document accompanying the goods that is required in foreign trade, especially for customs clearance . In the international movement of goods, it serves as the basis for issuing other customs documents such as consulate invoices and customs invoices. In some cases it is necessary to prepare the commercial invoice on a form from the consulate of the importing country and to have it confirmed by the consulate. One then speaks of a consulate invoice . The customs invoice is a simplified form of the consular invoice and serves as a basis for the ad valorem duty .
The commercial invoice is a key document in letters of credit and is therefore mentioned in Art. 18b UCP 600 . According to this, a bank can “accept a commercial invoice for an amount in excess of the credit amount”. Credit institutions then only make payments up to the amount of the letter of credit.
