Commercial center

The term commercial center is understood to mean a city in which a considerable part of world trade takes place. In terms of individual countries or regions moreover be even cities, although small with a for world trade, in a regional context but outstanding importance for the trade designated as a trading center.

As a rule, trading centers have good transport links in the form of trading ports ( container terminals ), airports and railway facilities .

Hanseatic cities have a history as trading centers that goes back to the Middle Ages. In some cases, such as Hamburg , this function has been retained to this day.
