handling
The handling or the handling is a part of operation of the material flow and the mounting . During handling, the spatial position and orientation of a body with a certain geometric shape is changed (turning, turning, ...) or retained, but without changing anything on the body itself, as is the case with processing. According to VDI 3300, it includes movement processes when initiating or terminating processes in production , transport and storage . According to VDI 2860, handling counts
- the storage (temporary storage),
- the change of quantities,
- moving the workpieces ( conveying ),
- the securing and
- the check .
There is special handling technology for carrying out the handling . These include, for example, industrial robots or insertion devices .
