The Chamber of Crafts of the Palatinate , based in Kaiserslautern, is one of 54 chambers of crafts in Germany .
It has almost 17,000 member companies with around 110,000 employees.
Position and function
The Chamber of Crafts of the Palatinate is a corporation under public law that performs a variety of tasks for its members. It makes an indispensable contribution to economic development, employment and training and sees itself as representing the interests of the Palatinate craft . The Chamber of Crafts ensures that the concerns of all craftsmen are represented jointly and in solidarity in politics and the public.
In the area of education and training, the Chamber of Crafts organizes numerous courses and seminars. It maintains three vocational training and technology centers in Kaiserslautern, Ludwigshafen and Landau. The extensive advisory services for craft businesses are also one of the core tasks of the Chamber of Crafts. Their range of services includes all areas of everyday business, from setting up a business to handover.

The highest decision-making body of the Chamber of Crafts is the General Assembly, which consists of 28 employer and 14 employee representatives.
The general assembly makes decisions about the business plan, the contributions and the annual accounts. It also defines the basic tasks of the Chamber of Crafts. The general assembly is elected by the members of the Chamber of Crafts for five years. The president, the vice-president, the vice-presidents and the other board members are elected from among their ranks.
The Palatinate Chamber of Crafts has been under the leadership of President Brigitte Mannert since December 3, 2009. The previous president Walter Dech was also appointed honorary president. Ralf Hellrich remains the managing director.
