Itsuki Koizumi ( Japanese 古 泉 一 樹 , Koizumi Itsuki ) is a figure conceived by Nagaru Tanigawa and drawn by Noizi Ito . He takes on the role of an espers in the light novel series Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu . The character became internationally known through the novel series, a manga series of the same name , the anime television series The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and the character single Suzumiya Haruhi no Yūutsu Character Song Vol. 8 Itsuki Koizumi .

Puyo, who drew parodies of the characters Haruhi Suzumiya and Yuki Nagato , also produced one with Itsuki Koizumi as the protagonist. This manga called Koizumi Itsuki-kun no Inbō ( 古 泉 一 樹 く ん の 陰謀 ) started on April 18, 2012 (Vol. 4/2012) in Ultima Ace magazine and ended on October 18, 2012 (Vol. 7/2012) with the discontinuation of the magazine.

Emergence

The character Itsuki Koizumi is a creation by Nagaru Tanigawa . Its external appearance was designed by Noizi Ito . He appears as an ESP gifted person. His abilities as an esper are named allusions to earlier works by Kyōto Animation and so his attacks are called Fumoffu or Second Raid , which are part of the anime series in the Full Metal Panic! are borrowed.

Classification in the works

As the last member to join Haruhi Suzumiya 's club, Haruhi recruited him as a “mysterious exchange student”. He allowed himself to be "captured" by her in order to shadow her on behalf of the Agency ( 機関 , Kikan ), a secret organization of ESP-talented people, and to keep Haruhi's emotions under control. Despite his talent, he never reveals himself to Haruhi as such and fights the Shinjin she emanates .

Itsuki supports and motivates Kyon because he sees something special in him. There is no other way of explaining why Haruhi allowed Kyon to be near her as an ordinary person. Although Itsuki is appointed as the vice-chairman of the SOS Brigade, the reality is that Kyon is taking over from Haruhi as the right-hand man. Inside the club, Itsuki smiles continuously and uses formal language. In his extremely calm manner, he tends to give long and detailed explanations, which are accompanied by strong gestures. In a conversation with Kyon he admits that he only plays this personality in order to create a certain, positive impression on Haruhi, while his true nature is "less pleasant". This initially caused tension between him and Kyon, as Kyon finds his fake smile, the unscrupulous support of Haruhi's ideas repulsive. Like Yuki , it is very difficult for the other members to interpret his facial expressions. In addition, in his conversations he repeatedly includes psychological and philosophical backgrounds (e.g. the anthropic principle , the Omphalos hypothesis , etc.) that the other characters cannot always follow.

Voice actor

In the Japanese original, Itsuki was played by the Seiyū Daisuke Ono . Kim Hasper took on his role in the German dubbing .
