In December 2014, 2K Games announced that it had founded the development studio Hangar 13. The studio is managed by Haden Blackman , former Creative Director at LucasArts . Mafia III was the studio's debut title and was first mentioned in July 2015 and officially announced with a trailer at Gamescom 2015 in August 2015. 2K Czech played a supporting role in the game's release. Mafia III was released for PC , PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in October 2016 .
