Hannah
Hannah is a female given name .
Origin and meaning
The biblical name Hannah is derived from Hebrew. Channa means grace in Hebrew, merciful and so the meaning of Hannah is the favored or God is gracious, but also the graceful or the lovely.
There are two great women in the Bible named Hannah. On the one hand the mother of the prophet Samuel and on the other hand the wise prophet Hannah, who recognizes Jesus as Savior on his first visit to the temple.
It is not entirely clear whether the mother of Mary, i.e. the grandmother of Jesus, was also called Hannah. In the Christian Church she is known as Anna. However, it is possible that this is an adapted Latin variant of her original name Hannah.
The word "Hannah" with an "h" at the end is, unlike " Hanna " without an "H", a palindrome .
