Hannan Buttress is a 1450 m high and steep ridge of the Big Ben volcano on the island of Heard in the southern Indian Ocean . It extends north from Davis Dome towards Saddle Point .
It is named after Francis T. Hannan, meteorologist of a 1951 campaign of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions to Heard Island.
