Hanne Wandtke

Hanne Wandtke (born November 19, 1939 in Dresden ) is a contemporary dancer and choreographer as well as a former director of the Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden .

Life

Hanne Wandtke studied from 1954 to 1960 at the Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden . After that she had several engagements as a stage dancer. 1960–62 she danced at the German National Theater in Weimar . Then she was at the Dresden State Opera Ballet until 1966 . From 1966 to 1979 she was a founding member and solo dancer of the dance theater ensemble of the Komische Oper Berlin . From 1979 to 2004 she was a teacher for new artistic dance at the Palucca School in Dresden. In 1993/94 she was director of the Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden. In 1994 she was professor for modern dance and improvisation. From 1994 to 2004, Wandtke was Vice Rector for Artistic Practice.

In 1996/97, Hanne Wandtke and other Dresden artists founded the artist association blauFABRIK e. V. and used the former Galerie Blaue Fabrik as a center for cross-genre, contemporary art. There she initiated u. a. Dance rehearsals and performances with Palucca students and the very popular “TanzMalMusik” series.

In 2000 she received the Order of Merit of the Free State of Saxony and in 2004 the Art Prize of the City of Dresden , in 2004 she became Honorary Senator of the Palucca School.

Hanne Wandtke lives in Dresden.
