Hannelore Schmidt (badminton)

Hannelore Schmidt (born July 9, 1927 , married Hannelore Wolfertz ) is a former German badminton player from Solingen .

She was one of the pioneers of badminton sport in the Federal Republic of Germany and was one of the outstanding personalities in this sport in the 1950s. In the first German title fights in 1953, she became champion in mixed doubles with Heinz Koch and runner-up in women's singles. In the following seven years she won all titles in the latter discipline. She was also a player in the German national badminton team.
