Eddy Voordeckers (born February 4, 1960 in Geel ) is a former Belgian football player on the position of a striker . His son Davy Voordeckers , born in 1984, is also active as a football player, but has so far mostly only been active as an amateur player and has only made a few appearances in Belgium's second division.

Player career

Voordeckers began his career in 1976 at KFC Diest. In 1979 he moved to Standard Liège . The striker won his first Belgian championship in Liège in 1982 and also won the Belgian Cup and the Belgian Supercup once . In 1982 he went to Waterschei Thor Genk , where he could not achieve a title until 1985. From that year he tried his hand at Stade Rennes in France for two years . In 1987 he returned to Belgium and signed a contract with KAA Gent . From 1990 to 1992 he let his career end with KVC Westerlo .

Internationally, Voordeckers played 29 times for Belgium and scored four goals. He took part in the 1984 European Championships in France . Belgium were eliminated in the group stage.
