Iwajlo Wiktorow Andonow ( Bulgarian Ивайло Андонов , English transcription: Ivaylo Andonov ; born August 14, 1967 in Blagoevgrad , Bulgaria ) is a former Bulgarian football player .

Career

Andonow began his professional career in 1987 with his hometown club Pirin Blagoevgrad and moved to CSKA Sofia in 1991 , with whom he immediately became Bulgarian champions. After three years and 55 goals in 84 games for CSKA, he moved to the Spanish club Albacete Balompié , where he could not prevail. After only one year, Andonow went to Arminia Bielefeld in 1995 , where he also only played for one year. He returned to CSKA Sofia and was again Bulgarian champion and cup winner. The striker Andonow moved to local rivals Lokomotiv Sofia in 1997 , before returning to Germany two years later and joining 1. FC Union Berlin . Finally, Andonow returned to his hometown club in 2001 and retired two years later.

Iwajlo Andonow completed a total of five internationals for the Bulgarian national team between 1991 and 1995 , but could not score a goal. He took part in the 1994 World Cup in the United States , in which the Bulgarian selection took fourth place. Andonow remained in the tournament without use.
