Hannibal (North City)
Hannibal is the name of a residential complex made up of high-rise terraced buildings in Dortmund's northern part of the city .
Velero has been the owner since October 2019.
Building structure
The Hannibal is about 50 meters high and has up to twelve floors. In the immediate vicinity is the Kleine Kielstrasse primary school and two- to four-story buildings on Heroldstrasse, the appearance of which corresponds to the shape of the main building. On the lower floors of the main building there are businesses consisting of businesses consisting of various people and groups who offer help, such as the “Founders Center” or the “Hannibal Youth Club”. The upper floors of the complex contain apartments.
Apartments
The 232 apartments in this residential complex are rental apartments , which are approximately 20 to 100 m² in size. The average price per square meter is up to five euros per square meter. It should be noted that the apartments are part of social housing . All apartments are spread over one and a half floors, so they can be called maisonettes .
Location / environment
The skyscrapers are located on Bornstrasse in the Nordmarkt district . In the immediate vicinity there are mostly four to five-storey rental apartment buildings from the Art Nouveau or post-war period. There are also playgrounds in the Hannibal area. In addition, the area is home to a good transport network and a connection to the Dortmund city railway , so that there is a good infrastructure and the city center can be reached quickly and easily.
history
The residential complex was built in 1972 by the Neue Heimat after a clear-cut renovation by the Redevelopment Area North II program next to the adjacent high-rise buildings “Kielstrasse 26” and “Heiligegartenstrasse 27”. From 1994 to 1999 the building was renovated on behalf of LEG . During the renovation, a new roof and new windows were used, as well as the then outdated technology and much more modernized.
