The primary school in Kleine Kielstrasse is an urban primary school in Dortmund's inner city district north . It was founded in 1994.
In the 2006/2007 school year , 420 children from over 20 nations attended the school, who were looked after by 26 teachers, two special educators , one social worker and seven other educational staff. Two teachers taught in Greek and Turkish as their native language.
The school participates in the Bertelsmann Stiftung's independent school project in the Dortmund model region.
At the German School Prize awarded by the Robert Bosch Foundation for the first time in 2006 , the school was awarded the main prize on December 11, 2006 as the best German school. The prize was awarded by Federal President Horst Köhler .
On August 29, 2007, Federal President Köhler visited the school in Dortmund. On his tour of the school he was accompanied by the North Rhine-Westphalian School Minister Barbara Sommer and Dortmund's Lord Mayor Gerhard Langemeyer .
The former national soccer player Knut Reinhardt is a member of the school's teaching staff.
