Knut Reinhardt (born April 27, 1968 in Hilden ) is a former German soccer player .
Athletic career
Knut Reinhardt began his career at TuS 05 Quettingen and moved to Bayer 04 Leverkusen as a D-youth . At the age of only 17, he played his first Bundesliga game for the Werkself on April 19, 1986 against Bayern Munich and soon after became German A youth champion. After a year in the league, he became a regular at Leverkusen in the 1987/88 season.
During this time he was also active for various junior national teams of the DFB and in 1987 became vice world champion with the U-20 national team . In 1988, the defensive midfielder won the UEFA Cup with Bayer Leverkusen and in the same year played his first international match for the German national soccer team , where he was never really able to assert himself. In total, he came up to 1992 on seven appearances in the national team in his career. In the European Cup he made a total of 50 appearances.
In 1991 Reinhardt left Leverkusen and moved to Borussia Dortmund . With BVB he became German champion in 1995 and 1996 and won the Champions League and the World Cup in 1997 . After he was less and less used in Dortmund, he moved to 1. FC Nürnberg in 1998 . There he could no longer build on his earlier successes and ended his career in 2000 after seven knee operations.
From the 2010/11 season Reinhardt is E-youth coach at TSC Eintracht Dortmund . In the 2012/13 season he trained the U-12 / DII of the Hombrucher SV .
Private
Knut Reinhard spent a large part of his childhood in the Westphalian Südlohn . After the end of his career as a professional footballer, the trained office clerk Reinhardt began a teaching degree at the University of Dortmund . After the exam, Reinhardt completed his legal traineeship at the Kleine Kielstrasse elementary school in Dortmund and started teaching there on February 1, 2009. Today he is a primary school teacher specializing in mathematics and sport (as of 2017).
Knut Reinhardt is the biological father of Lasse Lehmann , whom Jens Lehmann adopted after his marriage to Reinhardt's former partner. He also has a grown son. He is the father of four children in total. In 2017 he published his autobiography When Football Goes To School: My Path From Football Professional To Teacher .
