The gondola Hannig is a mountain railway in Saas-Fee in the canton of Valais . It leads from Saas-Fee to the Hannigalp , a terrace south-east of the Müllen ( 2700  m above sea level ). The mountain station is at an altitude of 2340  m above sea level. M.

The Hannig gondola lift was built by Giovanola in 1969, the same year as the Felskinn lift , and put into operation as an independent company. Co-founders and initiators were Bumann Fridolin and Bellwald Anton. Until 1992, the Hannig ski area was the smallest and lowest located Saas Fees ski area. In 1992, however, skiing was stopped due to the exposed south-facing position, the relatively low altitude and the associated lack of snow. In the same year, the offer for non-skiers was expanded and a complete overhaul was carried out by the von Roll company for CHF 2.6 million .

The license for the cable car was extended by the Federal Office of Transport until October 31, 2019, otherwise the cableway was threatened with closure. A new construction of the cable car is planned so that the closure is prevented, the Austrian Schröcksnadel Group takes over 23% of the share in the cable car, this is to be approved at the extraordinary general meeting on October 23, 2019.

This alp is not to be confused with the Hannigalp , which lies above Grächen .
