Hannigalp

The Hannigalp is an alp at 2114  m above sea level. M. above Grächen in the canton of Valais in Switzerland . The 8-seater gondola lift, newly built in 2011, leads from Grächen to the Hannigalp. This is the center of Grächen's tourist activities in both summer and winter. There is a beautiful mountain inn next to the mountain station. From the Hannigalp the terrain drops steeply on the north side to Stalden . There the Saas Vispa from the Saas Valley flow together with the Matter Vispa from the Matter Valley .

In addition to the Seetalhorn , the Hannigalp is the most important station in the Grächen ski area. In addition to the 6-person gondola lift, there is also a chair lift, three ski lifts and two beginner lifts available to skiers. A connecting lift ensures access to the neighboring station, Seetalhorn, while you can return directly to Grächen via the valley run. The Hannigalp also has a fun park, two mountain restaurants, a snow bar in a prime location and a huge children's paradise with daycare and entertainment. Further attractions are the toboggan run and the numerous snowshoe trails / winter hiking trails.

The Hannigalp is the starting point for countless hikes across the Alps and mountain forests. The high-altitude trail from Balfrin to Saas-Fee starts on the Hannigalp. The hike takes about seven hours. The path is part of route 27 Swiss Tour Monte Rosa : Saas-Fee - Grächen - Zermatt ( Europaweg ) as well as the national route 6 Alpine pass path : Chur - St-Gingolph from Wanderland Schweiz .

chapel

In the summer of 1971, under the direction of the men's association, the parish of Grächen built a chapel in honor of St. Brother Klaus built. The building material was collected as much as possible on the Hannigalp. The architect is Paul Anthamatten from Visp .
