Hanns Jakob Kirchbach

Hanns Jakob Kirchbach (* August 8, 1886 , † August 7, 1963 in Starnberg ) was a German hydraulic engineer and university professor .

Life

In 1911 he graduated from the Technical University of Munich with a diploma . Until 1914 he was employed in industry. From 1914 to 1918 he was a pioneer officer in the First World War . From 1922 to 1925 he was in charge of the construction management of the power plants on the Middle Isar Canal . From 1926 to 1928 he taught at the Academy for Applied Technology in Munich . In 1929 he received his doctorate from Dieter Thoma at the Technical University in Munich . Until 1947 he was construction director at the state capital of Munich both at the civil engineering office and at the transport company. From 1948 to 1951 he headed the Research Institute for Hydraulic Engineering and Hydropower in Obernach am Walchensee on behalf of the Bavarian State Building Administration . In 1946 he received a teaching position at the Technical University in Munich in the field of hydraulics for mechanical engineers and for piston work machines. In 1955 he was made an honorary professor and lectured until 1959. He published on topics of mechanical engineering, hydraulics and a pocket book on hydraulics in industrial companies .
