Hans-Christian Schack

Hans-Christian Schack (born April 2, 1942 in Rastede ; † January 14, 2012 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

education and profession

After school, Schack completed an apprenticeship as a high-voltage electrician. He then worked as a ship electrician in Hamburg and for eight years as an on-board electrician on long voyages. After the master electrician exam, he had been a trainer in the vocational support organization for the professional reintegration of accident victims and occupational diseases since 1969 .

politics

Schack had been a member of the SPD since 1971. From 1976 to 2001 he was councilor of the community of Ganderkesee , including from 1981 to 1986 as deputy mayor and from 1986 to 1996 as mayor. In addition, he was a member of the district council of the Oldenburg district from 1974 to 1986 .

Between 1986 and 2003 Schack was a member of the Lower Saxony State Parliament . On November 9, 2005, he moved back into the state parliament as a replacement for Thomas Oppermann, who had retired, and was a member of it until January 2008. As early as the end of 2006, Schack declared that he would not run again for the state parliament.

In addition to his party membership, Schack was a member of the Workers' Welfare Association and the Technical Relief Organization . He was also on the board of the Stenum Hospital Association and later as chairman of the supervisory board of the specialist orthopedic clinic in Stenum.

He leaves behind his wife and two children.
