Hans-Jakob Niehues

Hans-Jakob Niehues (* 1953 in Mainz ) is a German television presenter and journalist . On SWR television he moderates the news program SWR Landesschau aktuell Rheinland-Pfalz .

Life

Hans-Jakob Niehues was born in Mainz, is married and has two children. He moderates the early broadcasts of SWR Landesschau aktuell Rheinland-Pfalz at 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. In addition to moderation, he works as a news editor in SWR Text.

His interest in the media began at school as a member of the school newspaper. After graduating from high school, he studied journalism in Mainz with Elisabeth Noelle-Neumann . The main subject of his studies was Slavic Studies, with study stays in Dubrovnik and Zagreb.

While still a student, he worked for a church newspaper and in the ZDF youth editorial team . Since 1984 he has moderated the television news programs of Südwestfunk (SWF) and SWR in Mainz. In his spare time he is mainly occupied with classical music. He is also an organist in his home parish.
