Hans-Joachim Bargmann (born August 31, 1928 in Opladen ; † October 21, 1972 ) was a German SPD politician .

Life

education and profession

Hans-Joachim Bargmann attended elementary school and grammar school, which he completed with the Abitur. He then studied classical philology, Protestant theology, sociology, political science and public law in Karlsruhe, Münster and Marburg. From 1954 he was in school service in Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia. In 1964 he became senior director of studies and head of a grammar school. Bargmann acted from October 1970 as an alderman for schools and sports in the city of Essen. He is considered to be a co-initiator of the foundation of the University of Essen.

Hans-Joachim Bargmann was a member of the SPD from 1956. He was also a member of the Education and Science Union. From 1966 to 1968 he was the national chairman of the Association of Social Democratic Teachers (ASL). Other of his political offices were: Chairman of the education policy commission of the state executive committee of the SPD and deputy chairman of the SPD district association Wattenscheid. From 1964 to 1969 he was councilor of the city of Wattenscheid, including three years as parliamentary group leader of the SPD. Bargmann was a managing board member of "aktuelles forum eV". He was a permanent employee and temporary co-editor of the magazine "bildung und politik".

From July 25, 1966 until his death on October 21, 1972, Hans-Joachim Bargmann was a directly elected member of the 6th and 7th Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia for the constituency 104 Wattenscheid.
