Hans-Joachim Flau

Hans-Joachim Flau is a former German basketball player .

Life

Flau, who studied pedagogy and psychology at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig , played for the ASK Vorwärts Leipzig team, with whom he was, among other things, GDR champions. In 1961 he was awarded the title “ Master of Sports ”. In the 1967/68 season he reached the semi-finals of the European Cup Winners' Cup with the ASK .

With the national team of the German Democratic Republic , Flau took part in the European Championships in 1959, 1961, 1963 and 1967. At the EM 1959 he was the best scorer of the GDR selection with 11.4 points per match, at EM 1961 he led the team with 15.5 points per match, and at the EM tournament in 1963 he was the best scorer of the German team ( 13.7 points / game).

Flau wrote several books on the subject of sports psychology , including "Psychological contributions to training and competition problems" (1980) and "Sports psychology: study instructions for direct studies in the field of sports psychology" (1985).
