Hans-Joachim von Wachter (* 1964 ) is a German lawyer and has been a director of the Bremen citizenship since August 1, 2016 .

Education & profession

Hans-Joachim von Wachter studied law at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and completed his training after a legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Nuremberg in 1994 with the second state examination in law. In the same year von Wachter joined the Bavarian financial administration and in 1995 was appointed head of the Bayreuth tax investigation office in Upper Franconia . The primary task was to modernize the office, the management position of which had previously been vacant for four years. During this time, von Wachter also worked nationwide as an expert for the German Tax Union for criminal tax matters and organized tax crimes.

In 2000, Hans-Joachim von Wachter was appointed head of the Bremen tax investigation department in order to initiate a modernization of the authority here as well. During his tenure, he worked as a lecturer at the Federal Finance Academy . In 2006, on behalf of the northern German federal states, he designed the training for tax investigators and fine and fines. Criminal case officer new.

When the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution became a department of the Bremen Interior Authority as part of restructuring, von Wachter took over in his function as department head of Working Group IV “Protection of the Constitution” of the Conference of Interior Ministers . Under his chairmanship, the reorientation of the protection of the constitution in Germany was worked out after the NSU scandal.

In 2016, Hans-Joachim von Wachter was appointed director by the board of the Bremen citizenship. In this role as head of the authority he is the representative of the mayor's president in the mayor's office.
