Life

Albert, the son of a surgeon, was supposed to learn the trade of a bagger after attending school . But during his waltz he decided to become an actor. He had his first engagement as "Papillon" in "The Blind of Paris" in Reichenhall in July 1860.

After he ended up on his hikes as far as Holland, he returned to the Rhine and tried unsuccessfully as a theater director. Finally, after further wanderings, he returned to Munich and found engagement at the Gärtnerplatztheater. There he made his debut on October 26th, 1870. After several years in Munich he had successfully proven himself in many roles and also in Upper Bavarian dialect pieces, he went to the Ringtheater in Vienna in 1881. After the fire, he returned to the Gärtnerplatztheater. He toured with this across Europe and also the USA with Upper Bavarian farmer's pieces.

The 1887 tour led to Hanover, where he was asked if he would like to play there. The artist agreed, but he stayed with the Gärtnerplatzthetaers ensemble until 1889 and separated from them when they were making a guest appearance in Vienna and then went to Hanover. After ten years in the Upper Bavarian dialect in northern Germany, it was a risk to try the classical music. However, he managed this transition, even if it was not easy. He stayed in Hanover until 1901 and then retired into private life. He died in 1912.
